Let Hope Arise!

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23

Elpis:
Origin- Greek; from a primary elpo (to anticipate, usually with pleasure)
Meaning – joyful and confident expectation
English Translation – Hope

In Hebrews 10:23 the word Hope, is Elpis. Let us hold fast the confession of our joyful and confident expectation, without wavering!

Now, if you have been following my blog I have spoken on Hope multiple times. I have grounded myself in Hope. BUT Hebews 11:1 says;

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1

That word hope there is, elpizomenōn, that is “to expect”. Now if Faith is the substance of things Expected, and we are called to have a confident expectation without wavering, then maybe we got Hope all wrong.

What are we expecting to happen? Many of us are waiting on promises to be fulfilled, but are we expecting those promises to be fulfilled? Are we expecting a miracle or is it something we would just like to have happen. I tell you that doubt will steal your hope! Doubt will try to come in and tell you things are not going to work, your healing won’t come and your miracle won’t happen. I tell you, you will get what you expect to happen! If you expect healing, it will come. If you expect a miracle, it will come! If you expect nothing, you will get just that. We need to start expecting, so that our faith can attach to true hope and rise to the heavens and release miracles.

About Cynthia

I was brought up a Mormon but became a skeptic. I was open minded and accepting but did not know what to believe or how to believe in God or Jesus Christ. In the passing my baby boy, at the age of 2 1/2, my eyes were opened to the Lord. In His love I found strength to get through my grief. I found compassion unlike any other. Through God I found Hope!
